The platform for movie lovers that combines all the information you need to browse and collect your movies.
IMDb (an acronym for Internet Movie Database) is an online database of information related to films, television programs, home videos, video games, and streaming content online – including cast, production crew and personal biographies, plot summaries, trivia, ratings, and fan and critical reviews. An additional fan feature, message boards, was abandoned in February 2017. Originally a fan-operated website, the database is owned and operated by IMDb.com, Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon.
As of January 2020, IMDb has approximately 6.5 million titles (including episodes) and 10.4 million personalities in its database, as well as 83 million registered users.
IMDb began as a movie database on the Usenet group "rec.arts.movies" in 1990 and moved to the web in 1993.
imdb.comThis is part of a series of personal projects that explore quick ideation. Each piece of this series has been done in less than four hours and delivers one visual using 3 main colours. With this practice I don't pretend to deliver a final visual, the main goal is to explore my creative taste and train myself to think and paint my thoughts quickly.
Project Goals
Try to combine as much information as possible in one single page. Using some content providers, as a user, sometimes I miss more ways to browse movies, such as per actor or director.
Conclusions
It would be interesting to play with animated clips in the background. Having so much information available in one place, you need to be careful with the text hierarchy.
